Some Hockey Humour For The Kids

4 Sep

A source close to Jared Keeso claims he was a hockey lover long before he starred as Don Cherry in CBC’s Keep Your Head Up Kid, The Don Cherry Story.

If that source is wrong, this YouTube gem should confirm things. Jared has written and produced his first YouTube short “Three Flames Fans On: The Offseason”. So check it out, share it with your friends.

If I could make this YouTube into a Pop Up Video, I would point out the the dog in his logo “Play Fun Games” is Gus. If you don’t know Gus you’re missing out.

Jared Keeso as Don Cherry

If you don’t know who Jared Keeso is yet you better check yourself. Jared blew fans and critics away when he starred as Don Cherry in the CBC biopic Keep Your Head Up Kid, The Don Cherry Story in 2010.

“Jared Keeso’s performance as Don Cherry is so convincing it will have you using partial sentences for the rest of the 2011.” – Jordan, The Whole Ball of Wax

“Keep Your Head up Kid, The Don Cherry Story- starring Jared Keeso, is the most compelling hockey film since D2: The Mighty Ducks – starring Emilo Estevez, and the best biographical film since A Coal Miners Daughter – starring Sissy Spacek.” – Josh, Coming Up Sports

Jared’s portrayal of Don Cherry earned him the award for Best Actor at the 2010 Gemini Awards.

So with that being said we at TNTS are thrilled to announce that Jared is currently back in Manitoba filming the sequal to this TV mini-series.

The follow-up film chronicles Don Cherry’s journey into the world of Broadcasting. Along with Jared, Sarah Manninen will be reprising her role as Rose Cherry as well as Steven McHattie as the memorable Eddie Shore.

Jared has been spending a lot of extra time in the makeup chair this time around as Don entered the broadcasting scene a few years before Jared was even born. Despite the age difference Jared is knocking this one out of the park.

We will keep you posted on when you can catch the sequel on CBC!

The Bees Knees: Jared Keeso – Live from LA

23 Jan

Jared Keeso was put on the map last year when he played Canadian legend Don Cherry in the CBC biopic Keep Your Head Up Kid, The Don Cherry Story. His remarkable performance won him a 2010 Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Dramatic Program or Mini- Series.

As many Canadian actors do this time of year, Jared headed South to Hollywood to audition for pilot season. We figured this was the perfect opportunity to get a first hand look at what makes LA The Bees Knees.

MUSIC VENUES: Legendary spots like the Troubadour, Viper Room (previously owned by Johnny Depp and also where River Phoenix OD’d on Heroin), The Hollywood Bowl, and The Smell (seedy new venue I checked out last night in downtown LA that new bands like No Age, Abe Vigoda and Physical Forms have put on the map.)

PIT BULLS: I am a massive fan of this breed and have seen some of the most handsome/gorgeous pups hanging out of car windows or being walked down the street. LA folk love their bully breeds.

CAR WASHES: Nothing makes you desire a clean car like a warm, sunny day which we don’t see an overwhelming amount of in Canada. It’s warm and sunny almost every day here and the ratio of car washes to people is seemingly 1:10.

FASHION/STYLE: I understand that LA is somewhat of a hub for fashion and style. There is certainly no shortage of interesting looking people walking around. There is an extremely diverse population and a scene for whatever you’re into. I can’t decide whether I’m a better fit for Teen Vogue or People’s Rev..
